U Prep Paraprofessionals are responsible for assisting the classroom teacher in the educational and socialdevelopment of all of the students.
Excellent written and oral communications skills along with excellent computer skills;
Excellent organization, follow-up skills, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
Strong time management skills with attention to detail;
Must possess a disciplined work style with the ability to show comparable urgency with proactive work as with deadline-driven work;
Willing and able to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities while demonstrating flexibility and
Proven ability to thrive in a self-directed, fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities;
Possess high degree of integrity and strong ability to handle sensitive and confidential information; and,
Strong relationship building.
High school diploma or better.
Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
Willingness to learn and implement U Prep Schools and support school programs.
Knowledge of a second language is desirable.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff and community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reports to the School Leader through the teaching staff.
Supervises individuals or small groups of students as directed by the teachers.
Helps with the planning, preparation, and implementation of projects and activities as directed by the
Supervises students during non-academic times (i.e. lunch, choice time, recess, teacher planning periods, etc.).
Chaperones class field studies.
Helps maintain an orderly, attractive classroom environment.
Assists with arrival and dismissal, including escorting children to and from buses.
Provides clerical assistance as directed by the teachers.
Manages classroom food service.
Participates in all staff meetings and professional development.
Maintains flexible daily routines that accommodate changing responsibilities and schedules.
Supports teaching staff in any way that promotes the goals of U Prep Schools
